National Project Coordinator (One Health)

About the role

The National Project Coordinator (One Health) will support FAO Angola in coordinating the "Prevention, Preparedness, and Response to Health Emergencies" project. Based in the Resilience Thematic Unit, the role ensures alignment with national One Health priorities and FAO procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day implementation of One Health projects funded by UTF, GCP and TCP, ensuring compliance with work plans and national priorities.
• Support design, monitoring and scaling of Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) systems across municipalities and provinces.
• Facilitate multisectoral coordination among government ministries, UN agencies, research institutions and civil society.
• Provide technical back‑stopping, quality assurance and performance monitoring for implementing partners.
• Prepare and review technical documents, budgets, procurement plans and progress reports.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Veterinary Medicine, Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Animal Sciences, One Health or related field.
• Experience in coordinating health‑security or One Health projects, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with national authorities, donors and international partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of integrated disease surveillance, zoonotic disease prevention and antimicrobial resistance control.
• Familiarity with community‑based surveillance, event‑based monitoring and digital health reporting systems.
• Capacity to develop training materials, conduct workshops and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
