Marine Surveyor – Ships in Service (Angola)

About the role
The Marine Surveyor is responsible for conducting quality inspections of ships in service or under construction to verify compliance with classification rules, international maritime regulations and national standards.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake classification, certification and statutory surveys and inspections of ships in service according to applicable rules and regulations
- Carry out ISM, ISPS and MLC audits as assigned by the supervisor
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure all survey and inspection reports are factual, objective and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe
- Keep up to date with new rules, regulations and technical information disseminated through internal communication
- Participate in internal and external meetings as required
- Attend all scheduled trainings locally and overseas and achieve specified delegations as agreed in the performance management process
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of time and expense sheets
Required profile
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related marine industry
- 2‑5 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication, networking and influencing skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate team members
- Good business acumen
- Proficiency in English
