Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance and condition‑monitoring activities on its offshore vessels. The role combines strong leadership, safety focus and technical oversight to ensure reliable, efficient operation of vessel systems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and promote the company Management System, safety policies and change‑management procedures.
• Report and close out audit actions, surveys and incident investigations in line with documentation standards.
• Manage vessel system operations through supervisors and technical staff, ensuring compliance with Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) and risk‑assessment processes.
• Drive training, competency assurance and performance appraisals for the Maintenance Department.
• Handle welfare, disciplinary matters and coordinate with the Offshore Installation Manager and HR.
• Oversee electrical, mechanical, ICSS and instrumentation maintenance activities, including vendor and subcontractor work.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and managerial experience in offshore or marine maintenance environments.
• Strong safety orientation with the ability to enforce safety standards and procedures.
• Competence in supervising multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and operators.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting, incident investigation and stakeholder coordination.
