About the role
Azule Energy is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across its upstream activities in Angola. The role involves delivering proactive, commercially‑focused advice to enable the company’s strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with local legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on commercial, operational, corporate, ethics, compliance, procurement, health & safety, tax, customs and other upstream matters.
- Draft and review contracts, letters to government entities, and other legal documents.
- Support the Managing Counsel and Legal & Corporate Affairs Director on complex projects and represent the legal function as needed.
- Maintain an effective compliance environment to mitigate legal risk.
- Liaise regularly with business units to understand needs and deliver tailored legal solutions.
Required profile
- 8‑12 years of legal experience, preferably in the energy or oil & gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of Angolan legislation, especially labour, corporate, commercial contract and environmental law.
- Excellent time‑management, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Commitment to high professional and ethical standards and to safety.
Required skills
- Good knowledge of Angolan legislation (labour, corporate, commercial, environmental).
