Lead Architect – Software Engineer (Senior Solutions Architect)

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Architect‑Software Engineer to drive end‑to‑end modernization of a large‑scale platform. You will shape the target architecture across front‑end, API/services, data, and infrastructure layers, working in a hybrid Azure/on‑premises environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define target‑state architecture for front‑end frameworks, API/services, data persistence, integration middleware, and Azure/on‑premise infrastructure.
• Produce reference architectures, architectural decision records, and phased migration roadmaps.
• Design hybrid integration patterns for seamless coexistence of cloud‑native and on‑premise components.
• Lead architectural reviews and design sessions across all workstreams, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Mentor senior engineers and validate designs through prototypes and proofs of concept.
• Present architectural options, trade‑offs, and recommendations to senior technical and business leaders.

Required profile

• Full‑stack thinker who optimises across UI, services, and data layers.
• Technical authority trusted by engineering teams for clear, defensible decisions.
• Comfortable navigating hybrid cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Able to translate technical trade‑offs into business impact (cost, risk, timeline).

• Thrives in ambiguous, legacy‑heavy contexts and brings structure.
