Inspection Engineer – Lifting Equipment & Cranes

About the role

The Inspection Engineer will lead third‑party inspection, testing and certification of lifting equipment and cranes for oil and gas projects. You will ensure compliance with international standards, client specifications and local regulations while supporting safe operations on offshore and onshore sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections, load testing and re‑certification of mobile, offshore and tower cranes, lifting appliances and accessories.
• Review engineering drawings, lifting plans, technical documents and manufacturer data books.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports, certificates and non‑conformance reports.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and site personnel to clarify technical issues.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Support audits, client meetings and technical discussions as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably on marine vessels.
• At least 5 years hands‑on inspection of lifting equipment, cranes and accessories.
• Previous work with third‑party inspection agencies is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Commitment to high HSE standards and strict adherence to safety procedures.
