HSSEQ Coordinator

About the role

The HSSEQ Coordinator will support Yinson’s offshore FPSO operations in Luanda by maintaining and improving the company’s health, safety, environment, security and quality management system. The role combines regulatory compliance, audit management, risk assessment and training to ensure safe and sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the HSSEQ management system and related documentation.
• Monitor compliance with applicable HSSEQ regulations, codes and standards, and manage correspondence with flag authorities and classification societies.
• Act as super‑user of HSSEQ software and oversee risk‑management processes, including Permit‑to‑Work administration.
• Plan and conduct internal audits onshore and onboard, and coordinate external audits of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Interface with certification bodies, lead incident investigations, and support management reviews.
• Develop and deliver HSSEQ training for on‑shore staff and vessel crews.
• Provide HSSEQ input for tenders, support emergency response procedures and perform duty officer duties.
• Travel regularly to company offices and FPSO units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the maritime/offshore sector and at least 3 years in HSSEQ roles.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 31000.
• Familiarity with IMO regulations and codes (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, MODU) and classification society requirements.
• Quality auditor certification from a recognised body.
• Fluent English communication skills.

• Proficiency with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 31000).
• Understanding of IMO regulations (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, MODU).
• Knowledge of classification‑society HSSEQ requirements.
• Quality auditor certification.
• Incident investigation methodology.
• Facilitation of Hazid/Hazops risk assessments.
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Super‑user competence in HSSEQ software.
