HSE Engineer – Luanda, Angola

About the role

Saipem is seeking an HSE Engineer to support the development, management and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System for EPIC projects in Angola. The role will ensure that all engineering, procurement, construction and installation activities meet client, company and regulatory HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that design, procurement, construction and installation comply with client HSE requirements, Saipem standards, local legislation and international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Support the implementation of HSE requirements across all project phases.
• Integrate HSE principles into engineering and operational activities.
• Develop and implement Project HSE Plans and Procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure consistent application of HSE policies, procedures and standards across all activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of HSE systems and practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of QHSE experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role on oil & gas, petrochemical or NGC projects.
• Fluent in Portuguese and professional English.
• Current residence in Angola with a valid residence card (no sponsorship available).

Required skills

• Strong ability to develop, implement and maintain a Project HSE Management System aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and client‑specific HSE requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
