HSE Advisor

About the role

The HSE Advisor will provide health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) support and guidance for Oceaneering’s offshore energy projects. Reporting to the Supervisor, the role ensures compliance with HSSE policies, legislation and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate HSSE requirements to personnel at all levels, including client representatives and on‑shore project teams.
• Support line management in deploying HSSE policies, procedures and new initiatives.
• Assess risks, develop control measures and conduct risk assessments for assigned work.
• Deliver HSSE training, maintain records and perform workplace inspections and audits.
• Track, monitor and report corrective actions, improvement plans and HSSE performance data.
• Participate in management meetings, site visits and MOCA assessments.
• Mentor staff on HSSE issues and ensure PPE risk assessments are current.
• Coordinate incident reporting, investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure waste standards, MSDS availability and compliance with HSSE legislation.
• Lead emergency response efforts, including medical evacuation, and manage the drug‑abuse screening program.
• Support the Project HSSE Award program and help line management set annual HSSE targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety‑related field (preferred).
• NEBOSH or OSHA safety certification.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Working knowledge of HSSE law, HSSE processes and continuous quality‑improvement processes.
• Strong presentation, written and communication abilities.
