Garden Hand

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Garden Hand to join our team at A’Zambezi River Lodge. You will support the Garden and Grounds Supervisor in maintaining attractive green spaces for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain seasonal plants.
• Mow, trim and fertilize lawns and green areas.
• Mulch, edge and weed garden beds.
• Prune and trim trees and bushes.
• Maintain gardening equipment such as mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers.
• Monitor plant health and address pest issues.
• Keep gardens clear of debris and litter.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience as a gardener.
• Minimum of five ordinary level qualifications.
• Familiarity with landscaping design.
• Extensive knowledge of regional plant species.
• Understanding of local pests and control methods.
• Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations for landscaping.

Required skills

• Operation of gardening equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).
• Plant health monitoring.
• Pest management techniques.
