Front End Lead

About the role

The Front End Lead oversees all front‑end activities at Rural King, ensuring a smooth, efficient checkout experience for customers. This role combines team leadership, training, and hands‑on support to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop front‑end associates, providing comprehensive training and ongoing coaching.
• Manage cashier transactions, layaway processing, and monthly layaway audits.
• Guide cashiers on using the cashier script and promote company programs such as the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Run a register as needed to keep the front end operating without interruption.
• Maintain margin bins for optimal product visibility and organization.
• Handle cash management tasks, including returns, exchanges, price dispute resolutions, and tax‑exempt customer plans.
• Deactivate EAS devices or spider‑wrapped products when required.
• Investigate cash shortages, implement corrective actions, and support shrink‑prevention initiatives.
• Provide courteous phone support at registers, representing Rural King professionally.

• Ability to train, motivate, and develop front‑end staff.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment.
