Financial Controller

About the role

ARV Companies is seeking a full‑time Financial Controller to lead finance and accounting operations at its Luanda office. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and providing insights that support strategic decisions across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance and accounting activities, including general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close.
• Supervise the accounting team and coordinate with external auditors and financial institutions.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements, management reports and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, variance analysis, cost‑control initiatives and contribute to financial planning and forecasting.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in accounting and finance with proven ability to manage daily accounting operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or CA highly desirable.
• Experience in a multi‑entity, diversified environment, preferably manufacturing or packaging.
• In‑depth knowledge of local tax and regulatory frameworks, internal controls and audit coordination.
• Effective communication, leadership and team‑management skills; willingness to work on‑site in Luanda.

• Expert use of spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel).
• Financial statement preparation and financial reporting.
• Variance analysis, cash‑flow management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Cost control and tax compliance.
• Audit coordination.
