Field Internship in Nature Conservation – Malanje, Angola

About the role

KAYA offers a hands‑on field internship at its project site in Malanje, Angola, allowing students and recent graduates to apply academic knowledge to real‑world nature‑based solutions and learn from an experienced conservation team.

Key responsibilities

• Support forest and vegetation monitoring activities.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and logistics of field operations.
• Collect and document data, including GIS mapping.
• Participate in restoration, land‑management, and community‑engagement tasks.
• Help prepare reports, presentations, and other project documentation.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant university program (e.g., Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Geography, Environmental Engineering).
• Motivated to gain practical field experience in nature conservation, climate action, and sustainable development.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese knowledge is highly desirable.

Required skills

• GIS (Geographic Information Systems) proficiency.
• Data collection and documentation experience.
