Fabric Maintenance Engineer

About the role

As a Fabric Maintenance Engineer at SBM Offshore, you will ensure the integrity, safety and longevity of all fabric structures across offshore and onshore facilities. You will lead inspection, repair and preventive maintenance programmes, supporting the company’s mission to deliver reliable, low‑carbon energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute fabric maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs and preventative tasks.
• Conduct regular condition assessments and produce detailed reports.
• Develop maintenance strategies and schedules in line with industry standards and company policies.
• Liaise with other departments to minimise operational disruption.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Supervise contractors and maintenance personnel, maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance actions.
• Perform Passive Fire Protection (PFP) inspections and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) repairs as required.
• Manage corrective actions arising from PFP and CUI activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of fabric maintenance experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations and best‑practice maintenance procedures.
• Proven experience managing maintenance projects and multidisciplinary teams.
