Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Performance

About the role

The Buyer issues purchase orders according to existing contracts, manages non-contractual requirements through sourcing (where applicable, in coordination with Category Managers), monitors deliveries of equipment up to the vessel and contributes to the continuous improvement of supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Create and issue purchase orders in compliance with existing contracts, applying the correct incoterms and contractual conditions
• Handle non-contractual needs through sourcing, with Category Managers' support when required
• Identify and select suppliers for spot purchases and negotiate price, quality, delivery time and incoterms
• Discuss and obtain acceptance of applicable Terms & Conditions from suppliers
• Follow orders end-to-end, from purchase requisition to delivery, and track equipment transport to hubs and vessels with the Logistics Department
• Act as main contact for operational teams on order and logistics follow-up, raise alerts for delays or anomalies and involve stakeholders when issues arise
• Analyse supplier compliance with delivery schedules and contractual commitments, and give regular feedback to Category Managers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years in Procurement or Supply Chain
• 3-5 years of experience
• Offshore maritime industry experience is a plus

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and good understanding of Incoterms and transportation rules
• Ability to analyse supplier performance indicators and propose corrective actions
• ERP / Oracle tools and MS Office
• Fluent English, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and results-oriented mindset
