Associate Investment Officer (Manufacturing & Services)

About the role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is seeking an Associate Investment Officer to join its Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) Africa Department in Luanda, Angola. The role supports the team responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing investment transactions in the manufacturing and services sectors across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential investment partners and opportunities based on market potential, financial capacity and strategic fit.
• Conduct credit analysis and evaluate development impact of prospective deals.
• Support the execution of loan, equity and mezzanine financings, including due‑diligence, deal structuring, negotiation of terms and documentation.
• Coordinate internal approvals and arrange syndications where required.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement sector strategies.
• Maintain ongoing portfolio supervision and client relationship management.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in investment banking, private‑equity, development finance or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on credit quality and impact assessment.
• Ability to work closely with colleagues in Luanda, the wider region and Washington, DC.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
