Accountant – Construction Project Finance

About the role

EDECS is looking for an experienced Accountant to manage financial records and support the financial management of construction projects in Angola. The role ensures accurate transaction recording, project cost tracking, and compliance with local accounting standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records of purchases, sales, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Allocate project‑related expenses to the correct projects, cost centres and accounts.
• Perform regular account reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation meets audit requirements.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments and actual expenditures; conduct job costing and progress billing.
• Provide timely financial reports to project managers for cost control and profitability analysis.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, review invoices and manage aging reports.
• Support payroll processing and record payroll‑related transactions.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and calculate depreciation for machinery and equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an accountant, preferably within construction or project‑based environments.
• Familiarity with Angolan accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial data.
