Well Performance Engineer

About the role

This position supports a major upstream project in Angola, embedding a technical specialist within a multidisciplinary team. The Well Performance Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, optimizing and coordinating well start‑up procedures in a deep offshore environment, contributing directly to production targets and safe hydrocarbon delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement well monitoring and analysis tools, including Digital Oilfield, GAP and PROSPER.
• Validate and update well and network models using well tests, PVT, reservoir and field data.
• Support design, execution and follow‑up of well performance during start‑up, clean‑up and ramp‑up phases.
• Participate in defining annual production commitments and advise on corrective actions for ramp‑up deviations.
• Collaborate with Reservoir and Drilling & Completion teams to set production/injection objectives.
• Conduct day‑to‑day well surveillance, production diagnostics and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate well testing programmes and ensure timely validation, processing and archiving of results.
• Coach junior Well Performance Engineers and promote HSSE best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in well performance roles on operated oil and gas assets.
• Experience with deep offshore or subsea projects, preferably in deepwater environments.
• Fluency in English.
