Welding QC Supervisor

About the role

Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for the energy and infrastructure sectors, is hiring a Welding QC Supervisor for its GPAJ & West Hub Tail project in Angola. The role supervises welding inspection activities and verifies the implementation of Quality Control Plans. The position starts in January 2027, lasts 12 months and is renewable.

Key responsibilities

• Check Quality Control Plans against welding activities and supervise welding inspection activities.
• Verify that consumables, equipment and instrumentation used for welding are available and adequate.
• Ensure materials and equipment are correctly received, stored, preserved, calibrated, handled, identified and traceable.
• Support the evaluation of inspection personnel qualifications and the verification of work procedures, including special processes.
• Supervise and witness inspections, check reports and documentation, and verify that required quality records are collected.
• Confirm that tests, controls and inspections follow Quality Control Plans and Inspection Test Plans, and that personnel have access to project documentation.
• For subcontracted activities, verify the implementation of approved plans, witness inspections and collect quality records.
• Ensure documents certifying tests and inspections are retrievable in the final As-Built dossier and that the quality works dossier is prepared for handover to the Document Controller.
• Verify that the NCR management process is in place and effective.

Required profile

• Master's or bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 5 years of experience as a Welding QC Supervisor in the oil and gas industry.
• English language skills required (other languages specified by the project).
