Temple Facilities Manager

About the role

The Temple Facilities Manager ensures the temple and its ancillary buildings reflect beauty, cleanliness, and sacred standards. This senior role begins as a site supervisor during construction and transitions to full facilities management after dedication.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between contractors, the Project Manager, and the Area Temple Facilities Manager during construction.
• Supervise all site activities throughout the building phase and oversee ongoing maintenance of approximately 40,000 sq ft of temple facilities.
• Maintain established standards during peak usage and when the temple is closed, managing expectations of key stakeholders.
• Provide on‑site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring to the Temple Facilities Services team.
• Develop and execute the annual maintenance plan, overseeing project and operational costs, preventative maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, audio‑visual, and computer systems.
• Manage department labour costs, third‑party relationships, and ensure compliance with design documents and standards.
• Lead final close‑out procedures, including as‑built drawings, warranty processes, and documentation.
• Communicate regularly with temple leadership, local government, architects, and contractors, providing status reports on progress, quality, and procurement.

Required profile

• Current and valid Temple recommend or equivalent endorsement.
• 3‑ or 4‑year degree in facilities management, building industry, project management, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of facilities management experience (total of 10 years combined education and experience).
• Proven budgeting and financial management experience for large facilities.
• Ability to understand and communicate in the local language; proficiency in English may be required.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods and use computer equipment.
