Senior Well Engineer

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a Senior Well Engineer to lead the design and execution of complex well engineering solutions. The role involves providing technical leadership, ensuring operational integrity, and driving continuous improvement across well projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of well proposals, Basis of Design (BoD), and Well Operation Programs.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support their development.
• Maintain technical integrity of well planning, engineering design, and execution.
• Prepare End‑of‑Well reports, capture lessons learned, and incorporate feedback.
• Develop and approve Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents while controlling costs.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for safe and compliant operations.
• Forecast medium‑ and long‑term resource needs and coordinate daily operational meetings.
• Track performance against goals and lead engineering studies to resolve recurring challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize well performance and project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, preferably Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in well services, well engineering, or drilling/completions operations.
• Well supervisory experience and valid Well Control Certification.
• Strong technical, operational, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
