Process Engineer (FPSO Operations)

About the role

The Process Engineer will support ABJV FPSO operations in Angola, ensuring smooth and efficient production on the vessel. You will work closely with on‑shore engineering, offshore operations, maintenance and HSE teams to optimise processes, troubleshoot issues and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the site process engineer, providing day‑to‑day operational support for topside facilities and marine systems interfacing with the topsides.
• Monitor, analyse and optimise process systems to maximise efficiency and production rates.
• Conduct daily surveillance of plant performance (gas processing, oil separation, water treatment, etc.) and prepare technical reports on deviations and improvement recommendations.
• Identify and implement actions to minimise downtime and enhance operational performance.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for process‑related equipment failures and upsets.
• Perform detailed process engineering calculations and simulations to support plant optimisation.
• Contribute to design, modification and upgrading of piping, separation equipment, rotating equipment and control systems.
• Participate in HAZID, ENVID and HAZOP studies and ensure closure of related actions.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, IOGP Life‑Saving Rules and Angolan legislation.
• Monitor process safety systems, conduct risk assessments and support integrity management of safety‑critical elements.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical, Process or Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in process engineering for offshore or FPSO facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HAZID/HAZOP methodology and process safety management.
• Familiarity with Angolan legislative requirements and IOGP safety rules.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary offshore and on‑shore teams.
