Portuguese Freelance Audio Transcription & Annotation Specialist

About the role

We are seeking experienced Portuguese-speaking transcriptionists to support a multilingual AI data project. This remote, freelance position offers flexible hours and long‑term collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings from scratch.
• Review and correct machine‑generated transcripts.
• Segment audio, identify speakers, and add timestamps.
• Label pauses, fillers, overlapping speech, background noise, and other audio events.
• Follow detailed project guidelines and meet quality targets.

Required profile

• C1–C2 proficiency and idiomatic fluency in Portuguese, with strong grasp of spelling, grammar, punctuation, regional varieties, and colloquial expressions.
• Good working proficiency in English to understand project guidelines and feedback.
• Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, speech annotation, or related linguistic data work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to apply detailed guidelines consistently.
• Reliable computer, internet connection, and headphones.
