Laboratory Technician

About the role

The British School of Angola is looking for a full‑time, on‑site Laboratory Technician to support science teaching in Luanda. You will ensure the laboratory is ready for practical lessons and maintains the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, organize and maintain laboratory materials, equipment and resources for each practical session.
• Set up and dismantle experiments, following safety protocols.
• Assist teaching staff during practical lessons as needed.
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies and keep accurate inventory records.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration and basic troubleshooting.
• Implement health, safety and environmental procedures to keep the lab clean and safe.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician or in a similar educational or scientific setting.
• Technical qualification or diploma in laboratory science, biology, chemistry or a related field.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations for school laboratories.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration with teaching staff and learners.
