International Field Officer

About the role

HALO is seeking motivated individuals to join its global humanitarian programmes as International Field Officers. After an intensive training period in Cambodia, successful candidates will be deployed to any of HALO’s programmes worldwide, working in challenging environments to make communities safer from landmines and explosive remnants of war.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise local teams in mine‑clearance, explosive ordnance disposal and minefield survey operations.
• Conduct data analysis, risk assessments and equipment audits to ensure operational safety and effectiveness.
• Manage logistics, finance, security, HR, IT and quality‑management systems on the ground.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, repair activities and the preparation of technical reports and proposals.
• Represent HALO in interactions with state and community actors, contributing to broader conflict‑reduction objectives.

Required profile

• Adaptable, resilient and able to thrive in austere, remote conditions.
• Demonstrated leadership and early‑line‑management experience.
• Willingness to be away from home for up to 45 weeks per year and to be posted to any country programme.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and initiative.
