Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will work closely with the CFO to oversee all aspects of financial management, reporting and analysis for the organization in Angola. This senior position requires strong expertise in cash and asset control, budgeting and internal audit coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements for CFO review.
• Control and monitor all cash transactions, conduct cash counts, reconciliations and manage bank accounts, transfers and balances.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, verify physical assets and ensure proper protection of company property.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and supplier balances while monitoring working capital.
• Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and profitability reviews.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax authorities and suppliers to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls, identify financial risks and support internal and external audits.
• Supervise and guide the finance and accounting team, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with exposure to a CFO or group of companies.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, cash‑flow management, budgeting, costing and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and high attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese is a plus.
