Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to partner closely with the CFO in overseeing financial management, reporting, planning and analysis. The role will lead day‑to‑day finance and accounting activities while ensuring accurate financial statements and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Control and monitor all cash transactions, conduct cash counts and reconciliations, and manage bank accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, verify physical assets and safeguard company property.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and supplier balances.
• Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning.
• Review costing, margins, expenses and profitability; ensure accurate recording of all accounting transactions.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other external parties.
• Monitor tax calculations, filings and compliance, and support internal and external audits.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, identify risks and ensure policies are followed.
• Supervise and guide the finance and accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with exposure to financial reporting, cash‑flow management and budgeting.
• Experience working with a CFO or within a group of companies is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
