Coordination and Political Affairs Analyst

About the role
The Coordination and Political Affairs Analyst will support the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Angola, contributing to the implementation of the Project Initiation Plan (PIP) and the Joint UNDP‑DPPA Program on Building National Capacities for Conflict Prevention. The role bridges political engagement and development programming to promote peace, social cohesion, and inclusive development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical and policy support to the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team for the PIP implementation.
- Coordinate with UNDP, government counterparts, and national stakeholders to align activities with UN frameworks and the 2030 Agenda.
- Strengthen analytical capacity for conflict analysis, risk‑informed programming, and inclusive, conflict‑sensitive project design.
- Facilitate mediation, regional diplomacy, and the development of national peace infrastructure.
- Support the creation of inclusive platforms that promote women’s participation in peace processes.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in political science, international relations, peace and conflict studies, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in political affairs, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, or development coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work with UN agencies, government bodies, and civil society partners.
- Strong analytical and coordination skills in a multi‑stakeholder environment.
