Operations Officer – Luanda

About the role

The Operations Officer will join The Nature Conservancy’s Angola Program team, providing essential coordination and administrative support across a range of functional areas, including procurement, meetings, events, training, and volunteer management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate operational tasks such as procurement, meeting logistics, special events, training sessions, and volunteer program activities.
• Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to program‑based staff and make independent decisions within assignment scope.
• Identify routine problems, resolve using existing resources, and escalate complex issues to supervisors.
• Supervise Operations Administrators, drivers, volunteers, interns, and temporary staff, including training and orientation.
• Manage financial duties: purchasing, invoice processing, vendor contracting, budget tracking, and participation in annual audits.
• Lead planning and execution of in‑country workshops and events.
• Oversee office petty‑cash management and ensure timely replenishment per finance SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, business permits, signage fees, and NGO requirements for TNC Angola.
• Travel as needed and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Finance or accounting background.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proven experience coordinating projects, solving complex problems, and generating financial reports.
• Experience developing and administering departmental budgets.
• Ability to manage multiple administrative processes across departments.
