Network Support Engineer – Onsite Infrastructure Survey

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to conduct a comprehensive onsite network infrastructure survey and site assessment in Luanda, Angola. The role involves documenting the current network environment, verifying site access procedures, and preparing detailed reports for future installations.

Key responsibilities

• Register site entry, follow local access and security procedures, and verify escort policies.
• Capture GPS coordinates, photograph the main demarcation point, and document the communications/server room location.
• Measure and record cable routes, distances, and any installation constraints between the demarcation point and the communications room.
• Document rack details (ID, height, occupied and available U space), verify rack stability, and photograph equipment.
• Assess floor space, power availability, UPS systems, cooling, and grounding for future deployments.
• Inventory all WAN and LAN devices, document ports, interfaces, patch panels, and capture relevant photographs.
• Identify change‑freeze periods, compliance requirements, access control procedures, and potential risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or similar role.
• Ability to work independently on site and follow strict security and access protocols.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate measurement, documentation, and photography.
• Good communication skills to report findings clearly.
