Maintenance Superintendent

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join the crew of an FPSO vessel operating off Angola. The role carries full responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the engine room and all associated machinery, ensuring compliance with international conventions, flag state regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Master and oversee all maintenance and operational activities in the engine room.
• Ensure crew training and awareness of company requirements, IMO regulations, class rules and flag state standards.
• Maintain oil, fuel and lubricant inventories for each voyage and keep the Oil Record Book and Engine Log Book up to date.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including watch‑keeping instructions, monthly technical reports and equipment manuals.
• Implement and monitor the permit‑to‑work system and isolation procedures.
• Act as Maintenance Supervisor (MS) under IMO resolution A.1079 and as IHM Designated Person when required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in marine engine room operations and maintenance on vessels with propulsion power of 3,000 kW or more.
• Strong knowledge of IMO regulations, especially resolution A.1079, and IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) requirements.
• Proven ability to lead a technical crew and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
