Laboratory Technician

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its operations in Angola. You will be responsible for sampling and analysing a range of process fluids to ensure safe and efficient plant management while complying with HSE and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take samples of crude oil, natural gas, glycol, produced water, injection water, heating and cooling media.
• Perform laboratory analyses including gas chromatography and other fluid tests following company procedures.
• Ensure safe transportation and handling of hydrocarbon samples.
• Calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment according to manufacturer instructions and Saipem standards.
• Prepare daily and weekly analytical reports, log data and maintain laboratory stock levels.
• Report any issues to the Production Supervisor and adhere to COSHH regulations.
• Follow Saipem Permit to Work system and all relevant HSE policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in the energy sector or an industrial laboratory environment.
• Fluent in Portuguese and professional English.
• Must reside in Angola with a valid residence card (no sponsorship offered).
