Instrument Method Engineer

About the role

Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for the energy and infrastructure sectors, is hiring an Instrument Method Engineer in Soyo, Angola. The role ensures safe maintenance of Instrumentation and Control Systems in line with HSE rules, legislation and international standards, sets safety leadership attitudes, coordinates and supervises department activities and provides technical support to team members.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and issue instrumentation-specific procedures, method statements, work instructions and risk assessments for all maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform failure analyses, root cause analysis and prepare technical dossiers with corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop detailed scopes of work for Level 5 maintenance, refurbishment, repairs and non-routine interventions on process instrumentation, control systems, analyzers and safety devices.
• Review vendor and engineering documentation, contribute to the Management of Change process and ensure proper closure, including cost tracking and dossier finalization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Automation Engineering; a Master's in Automation, Process Control or Reliability Engineering preferred.
• 8-10+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical or FPSO sectors.
• Portuguese and professional English.
• Must reside in Angola and hold a valid residence card, as sponsorship is not offered.
