Chief Financial Officer – Infrastructure & Logistics

About the role

The client is a leading infrastructure and logistics operator that manages a strategically important maritime asset in Africa. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board, the Chief Financial Officer will shape the financial strategy of this capital‑intensive organisation and drive long‑term value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s overall financial strategy.
• Provide commercial insight and strategic support to the CEO and Board.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
• Oversee treasury functions, including liquidity, funding, foreign‑exchange exposure and risk management.
• Ensure robust financial governance, IFRS compliance and internal controls.
• Evaluate major capital investments and strategic projects.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives such as ERP optimisation, automation and business intelligence.
• Build and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, investors and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience as a CFO, Regional CFO, Finance Director or equivalent.
• Strong commercial and strategic finance capability in complex, asset‑intensive organisations.
• Track record of leading finance transformation, ERP implementation and process improvement.
• Experience working with Boards, executive teams and multiple stakeholder groups.
• Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills.
• Sector experience in ports, maritime, logistics, transport infrastructure, shipping, industrial services, oil & gas, mining, utilities or other large infrastructure businesses is highly regarded.
• International exposure, particularly in Africa or other emerging markets, is an advantage.
