API Inspector

About the role

The API Inspector acts as the competent person and focal point for inspection activities, ensuring equipment meets required codes, standards, and client procedures across global offshore projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections to verify equipment compliance with acceptance criteria, codes, and standards.
• Schedule, conduct, and document inspections at defined intervals to maintain asset integrity.
• Interpret regulations, codes, and industry standards and ensure adherence to Oceaneering or client procedures.
• Compile, submit, and endorse inspection reports, including NDT and fabric maintenance documentation.
• Update inspection data in internal or external databases as directed.
• Supervise Oceaneering personnel and third‑party contractors.
• Assess defects, provide remedial recommendations, and re‑inspect corrective work.
• Issue status reports (daily, weekly, handover) to stakeholders.
• Contribute to inspection program development, detailed planning, and pre‑surveys.
• Support audits (verification, client, internal) as required.
• Travel alone or with a team to global client locations.

Required profile

• API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector certification.
• API 570 Piping Inspection certification.
• Fluent reading and writing in English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plant and equipment inspection.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows‑based applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
