Payables Officer – Luanda

About the role

The Payables Officer will manage The Nature Conservancy’s accounts payable processes in Angola, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payments to vendors, contractors and staff. This position supports financial integrity through careful verification, documentation and reconciliation while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Verify payment documents and submit them in Workday for accuracy and compliance.
• Process vendor verification via Bridger Screening and maintain up‑to‑date vendor records.
• Submit payments in Workday, send approved payments to accounting vendors for bank uploads and obtain proof of payment.
• Share payment confirmations with vendors and contractors promptly.
• Upload approved payments and supporting documentation to Box for audit readiness.
• Maintain and update the daily invoice tracker.
• Review cash‑advance budgets, reconcile personal cash advances and credit‑card expenses.
• Prepare adjustments for project IDs and account codes, and ensure timely statutory compliance reporting.
• Support quarterly and bi‑annual meetings with accounting vendors and conduct Workday orientation for new employees.
• Participate in staff development, workshops and cross‑functional meetings, contributing to continuous improvement of payment processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (field not specified).
• Strong experience in accounts payable and vendor management.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and occasional travel.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
