Survey Engineer (Marine Construction)

About the role

The Survey Engineer will support marine construction survey projects by performing field‑based measurement, navigation and data‑collection tasks. Reporting to the Party Chief, Survey Operations Manager and Project Surveyor, the role ensures safe and accurate execution of survey activities on vessels and ROVs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist team members while following safe work procedures and conduct daily Job Safety Analyses.
• Calibrate heading, attitude and bathymetric sensors and configure navigation software to the correct projection and geodetic datum.
• Set up and run online survey/inspection spreads, configure vessel and ROV navigation displays, and manage project‑specific map information.
• Diagnose and resolve system faults, configure data logging, and prepare detailed survey reports.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and train fellow field personnel.
• Comply with company and client safety rules, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the client, project manager or survey manager.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of safety inspection methods and accident‑prevention practices.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and adverse conditions such as weather or equipment issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound decision‑making ability.
• Customer‑focused attitude with a commitment to quality service.
• No direct supervisory responsibilities.
