Social & Behavior Change Officer (P-2) – Temporary, Luanda

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer (P-2) will support UNICEF’s immunization programme in Angola by designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies. Reporting to the Immunization Specialist and under the guidance of the Chief of Health & Nutrition, the officer will work closely with government counterparts and partners to increase demand for immunisation services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement context‑specific SBC strategies aligned with UNICEF global guidance and Gavi 6.0 priorities.
• Strengthen community engagement mechanisms in both development and humanitarian settings.
• Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building to the national immunisation programme (NIP) on SBC best practices.
• Design, pilot and scale an evidence‑based national SBC package of interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC activities on immunisation outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in designing and implementing social and behaviour change interventions, preferably in health or immunisation contexts.
• Familiarity with Gavi 6.0 priorities and UNICEF SBC guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government officials, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
