Senior Accountant

About the role

We are a well‑established FMCG group operating in Angola and are looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant to lead the finance and accounting function at our head office. The role requires strong operational finance expertise, deep knowledge of Angolan fiscal regulations, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, treasury, payroll, cash office and management accounting.
• Drive month‑end close processes: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Angolan accounting, fiscal, customs and statutory requirements.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, variance reporting and margin analysis with operations and factory teams.
• Lead continuous improvement of financial controls, reporting processes and ERP utilisation.
• Supervise and develop finance staff to ensure accountability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior accounting or finance leadership experience in the FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of Angolan accounting, fiscal and compliance frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Primavera ERP.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
• Proven leadership, organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience in emerging markets or African business environments is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to Luanda, Angola.
