Operations Manager – Turbine Maintenance & Rotating Equipment (Expat Eligible)

About the role

The client, a leading international engineering and project management firm operating in Angola, seeks an Operations Manager to lead turbine and rotating equipment maintenance at a key client site in Cabinda. Reporting to senior operational leadership, you will be the primary interface with the operator, responsible for safety, reliability and contract performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of gas turbines, centrifugal compressors and associated balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Drive equipment availability, reliability and integrity against operator and contract KPIs.
• Own HSE performance for the scope, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Plan, schedule and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of expatriate and national technical staff (15+ members).
• Act as senior technical liaison with the client and OEM partners.
• Support continuous‑improvement, cost‑optimisation and operational‑excellence initiatives.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronic or related) with at least 15 years of post‑qualification experience in Oil & Gas.
• Minimum 8 years in turbine and rotating equipment operations and maintenance.
• Proven senior operational experience in an operator‑facing service‑provider or directly with an operator.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams on a rotational basis in West Africa or similar regions.
• Fluent English; Portuguese knowledge is an advantage.
