Mechanical Supervisor – Offshore Piping

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead offshore piping installation and mechanical outfitting for our assets off the coast of Angola. The role ensures safe, on‑schedule delivery of high‑pressure process, water injection and utility pipelines in compliance with international and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise fabrication, fit‑up and installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex and GRE piping systems.
• Interpret P&IDs, isometrics and general arrangement drawings; manage flange, bolt torquing and valve installation.
• Coordinate hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing and certify test packs.
• Lead a multidisciplinary crew of pipefitters, welders and riggers, monitoring daily progress and implementing recovery plans.
• Work closely with the Welding Inspector to ensure all welds meet NDT requirements.
• Enforce zero‑harm safety culture, PTW and JSA procedures, and ensure compliance with Angolan content regulations.
• Manage offshore materials, equipment and tool calibration.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
• 8–10 years offshore oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record on heavy fabrication projects for platforms or jackets.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET (OPITO), HUET and international passport.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese is an advantage.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of ASME B31.3 and API 570 standards.
• Familiarity with offshore lifting and rigging standards.
• Experience with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing procedures.
• Understanding of NDT (Non‑Destructive Testing) requirements.
• Proficiency in Navisworks or similar 3D model review software.
