WASH Officer (NO-1) – Fixed Term – Luanda

About the role

The Angola Country Office of UNICEF is seeking a WASH Officer (NO-1) to support climate‑resilient water, sanitation and hygiene programmes and emergency response. The role reports to the WASH Specialist and contributes to the Country Programme 2024‑2028, focusing on disaster risk reduction and anticipatory action.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan WASH components of the Country Programme.
• Manage, monitor and deliver programme results, ensuring alignment with climate resilience objectives.
• Provide technical and operational support for WASH implementation, including humanitarian preparedness and response.
• Build networks and partnerships with stakeholders, NGOs and government entities.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities within the WASH sector.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Disaster Management, International Development, or related fields.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in United Nations, emergency response, water and environmental sanitation, social‑behavior change, hygiene, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience or anticipatory action.
