WASH Officer (NO-1) – Fixed Term – Luanda, Angola

About the role

The Angola Country Office is seeking a WASH Officer to support climate‑resilient water, sanitation and hygiene programmes and emergency response. Reporting to the WASH Specialist, the officer will contribute to the Country Programme 2024‑2028 and help integrate Disaster Risk Reduction and Anticipatory Action across sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan WASH components of the country programme.
• Manage, monitor and report on programme results.
• Provide technical and operational support for WASH implementation.
• Prepare and respond to humanitarian WASH emergencies.
• Build networks and partnerships with stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Disaster Management, International Development or related fields.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in United Nations, emergency response, water & sanitation, social‑behavior change, DRR, climate resilience or humanitarian action.
