Turbine Supervisor

About the role
The Turbine Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient operation and maintenance of turbine‑driven equipment, including turbo‑generators and turbo‑compressors, within a power generation environment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with QHSSE rules, Permit to Work (PTW) and site operating procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Organise, plan and supervise preventive, corrective and troubleshooting activities on turbo‑generators, turbo‑compressors and associated auxiliary systems.
- Provide technical support to the preparation and planning team, defining scope, resource requirements and intervention strategies.
- Lead field teams during interventions, guaranteeing adherence to procedures, quality standards and operational priorities.
- Take ownership of turbine systems during breakdowns, performing rapid fault diagnosis, resolution and restoration to normal operation with minimal production impact.
- Manage availability, control and proper use of specialised tools and equipment required for turbine maintenance.
- Prepare and validate detailed technical reports, including intervention feedback, failure analysis and recommendations.
- Identify recurrent failures, conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) and propose corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
- Interface with Operations, Electrical and Instrumentation teams to ensure integrated system performance and safe restart of equipment.
- Contribute to technical and maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, reliability and reduction of unplanned shutdowns.
- Mentor team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and participation in on‑the‑job training programs.
Required profile
- Strong experience in preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of rotating equipment.
- Working knowledge of a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), e.g., SAP PM, for planning, execution follow‑up and reporting.
- Ability to support job preparation, including scope definition, tools, spares and procedures.
- In‑depth knowledge of turbine‑driven equipment (turbo‑generators, turbo‑compressors) and their auxiliaries (lube oil, fuel gas, seal gas, cooling systems).
- Familiarity with vibration monitoring and condition monitoring systems.
- Understanding of mechanical and control interfaces with electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Proven capability to lead field teams and mentor junior personnel.
