Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the development and deployment of integrated road crash data management systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will combine technical expertise in data systems with knowledge of road safety and transport analytics to build harmonised, interoperable crash data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems across ECOWAS member states.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Develop digital dashboards, reporting tools and monitoring systems for evidence‑based decision making.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation and support capacity‑building workshops and training for regional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, transport analytics or digital monitoring, with a minimum of 7 years focused on crash data systems.
• Proven experience delivering transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
