Quality Control & Welding Inspector – Offshore Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Control / Welding Inspector to join Ponticelli Angola on offshore industrial construction projects. The role will act as the offshore Quality Representative, ensuring that welding and non‑destructive testing activities meet contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Ponticelli’s offshore Quality Representative for the client, guaranteeing compliance with project quality standards, welding procedures and NDT requirements.
• Perform daily welding inspections according to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Scope of Work.
• Monitor welding activities, verify that qualified welders use approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain the welder qualification register.
• Manage welding consumable storage, traceability and related certification documents.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor NDT activities, performing visual testing (VT) and overseeing subcontracted NDT methods.
• Check material traceability, review material certificates and ensure base material compliance.
• Maintain registers of measuring, inspection and test equipment and ensure effective communication among offshore personnel, onshore support, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Compile quality dossiers, prepare daily reports and support the Ponticelli Quality, Welding and NDT departments.
• Promote adherence to company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) requirements.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Fabrication or a related field.
• Minimum CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (or equivalent recognized certification).
• Experience in offshore welding inspection and quality control.
• Additional certifications in Quality Control, Welding Inspection or NDT (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT) are advantageous.
