Data Engineer – Regulatory Reporting (6-12 months)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the bank’s data operations in Luanda, Angola. The role focuses on ensuring the integrity, consistency, and regulatory compliance of information submitted to the National Bank of Angola (BNA), working closely with Finance, Risk, Compliance and Data Governance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support migration, automation and management of regulatory reporting processes in line with BNA requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines across core banking systems, data reservoir, data warehouse and other enterprise sources.
• Ensure data quality, traceability and consistency for regulatory data products.
• Implement automated validation and reconciliation to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with Data Governance on metadata documentation, business rules and data lineage.
• Maintain compliance with privacy, security and regulatory standards, including data anonymisation and access control.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions and optimise performance, scalability and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, postgraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Science, with strong background in process automation.
• Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
