Assistant Store Manager

About the role

Rural King is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Working closely with the Store Manager, you will help drive sales, develop associates, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to oversee retail operations, sales performance, inventory, merchandising, pricing and compliance.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, coach and develop associates while fostering a high‑performing team.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve concerns and support promotions and community initiatives.
• Promote workplace safety, support OSHA compliance, inventory audits and loss‑prevention efforts.

Required profile

• 2+ years of retail leadership, management or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze business performance and drive operational improvements.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using POS systems and inventory management systems.
