Social & Behavior Change Officer (P-2) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer (P-2) will support UNICEF’s health and nutrition programme in Angola by designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies that increase immunisation uptake.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement inclusive SBC strategies aligned with UNICEF global guidance and Gavi 6.0 priorities.
• Strengthen community engagement mechanisms in both development and humanitarian contexts.
• Provide technical assistance to the national immunisation programme (NIP) for capacity building and institutionalisation of best practices.
• Design, pilot and scale a national SBC package of interventions to embed demand‑promotion activities.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions on immunisation outcomes.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and support the uptake of new SBC methods internally and externally.

Required profile

• Experience designing and implementing SBC strategies in health or nutrition programmes.
• Familiarity with immunisation programmes and Gavi initiatives.
• Ability to work with government counterparts and multi‑stakeholder teams.
