Education Sector Coordination Consultant – Angola (21 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a qualified consultant to provide technical and coordination support to the Local Education Group (LEG) Secretariat and to facilitate the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) initiative in Angola. The role is home‑based with periodic travel and lasts for 21 months.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities among the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, the UK Embassy, GPE Secretariat, grant agents, development partners, civil society and other LEG members.
• Support the implementation, monitoring and reporting of GPE‑related grants and activities.
• Facilitate inclusive, evidence‑based policy dialogue and communication among stakeholders.
• Strengthen coordination mechanisms and assist in the preparation of grant documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, Development, Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in international development, education sector coordination, or related fields.
• At least 3 years experience liaising with government counterparts.
• Fluent Portuguese and working knowledge of English.
• Knowledge of GPE policies, procedures and Angolan education sector policies.

• Familiarity with Angolan education policy framework.
